Abstract

  • NTP is a comparison of IT to IB that is used to show the exchange power of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs. The higher the NTP, the relatively stronger the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers.

  • Starting in January 2020 a change of basic year was carried out in the calculation of the price index received by farmers (IT) and the price index paid by farmers (IB) from the 2012 base year = 100 to the basic year 2018 = 100. Both types of indexes are components in the calculation of farmers' exchange rates (NTP). This basic year change is carried out to adjust changes in production patterns, production costs, and household consumption in rural areas. In the base year 2018 = 100 there was an increase in the scope of the number of commodities both in the IT and IB commodity packages compared to the 2012 Basic Year = 100.

  • Sulawesi Barat NTP January 2023 amounted to 116.44 or down 1.78 percent compared to the December 2022 NTP of 118.55. The decline in NTP was caused by IT which experienced a decline while IB experienced an increase where IT was recorded down by 0.69 percent while IB increased by 1.11 percent.

  • NTP according to the subsector is recorded for the Food Crops Subsector (NTP-P) 93.66; Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H) 107.00; People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-R) 135.65; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 93.38; and the Fisheries Subsector (NTN-P) 109.48.
